The next meeting of CMSARA will be on June 9th at 7 pm on the 147.345 repeater. The repeater has a + offset and a .100 tone.
The discussion will be center on field day and how it will impact CMSARA members and the best way to go about participating. Everyone is invited to join in with questions.
Immediately following the net there will be a Zoom presentation about the N3FJP Software that will be good for use during field day. This is very easy to use and intuitive software.

Rez Johnson, K1REZ has accepted an appointment as Assistant Section
Emergency Coordinator in charge of ARES Training for Mississippi. In
this position, he will be coordinating our ARES leaders and members in
the implementation of ARRL’s new ARES training requirements.
During 2020, a number of ARES Training Sessions will be held at various
locations around the state, to assist our members in passing the new
requirements. To receive an email about upcoming training sessions in
your area, please send K1REZ an email letting him know which county you
live in and he will keep you updated.
If you have not done so already, please download a copy of the new ARES
Standardized Training Plan Task Book from http://msares.com Please
print out a copy to place in a binder for use during your ARES training
To speed up your ARES certification process please send us a copy of
your latest FEMA Independent Study Transcript via our ARES Training
email address or snail mail address. (See bottom of page) If you do not
have a copy or your Transcript you can request one from FEMA:
UPCOMING ARES TRAINING SESSION:
During the Capital City Hamfest, Mississippi ARES will be holding an
official Training Session from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 25,
2020, in Room # 1, of the Mississippi Trade Mart Building, State
Fairgrounds, 1207 Mississippi Street, Jackson, MS 3920.
The purpose of this training session is to bring our ARES leaders and
members up to speed on the new ARES membership levels and Task Book
requirements. Participants will view a presentation on the new
requirements, be given an opportunity to learn new ARES skills and have
the requirements they have met signed off on in their Training Task
Please bring a printed copy of your Task Book with you. Additionally,
please bring a printed copy of your most up to date FEMA Independent
