In group sessions, we will practice on each other. Again, give yourself permission here to be bad at it. Nobody will judge you. We’re ALL bad at it in these sessions, and that’s a good thing!
When we start to actually make QSOs out in the real world, everybody sends in different ways, and we’ll have to deal with interference, pileups, and noise. So, practicing on each other when we’re ‘bad’ at it will give us some great practice in reading CW in the real world.
We’ll start each group session with one of us sending that session’s words and letters in random order. Everyone else will copy it as best we can and somebody else will read off what they copied. The sender will then confirm and correct the copy. Then it will be someone else’s turn to send, and we’ll repeat the process.
Don’t worry if you haven’t been able to practice the current session’s letters and words. We’ll be backtracking in every session anyway to reiterate all previous sessions. So there’s no excuse not to join in and try your best with what you know.
